Our Mission
Rowhouse Productions is Rufus and Sarah. It is a series of events, soirees, and salons, each with a special theme, with the aim of bringing together old friends and making new ones. Rowhouse Productions was created to bring together a group of thoughtful, creative, inventive, and engaging Philadelphians.
Who we are, what we do
In 2004 we (Rufus and Sarah) left Brooklyn for Philadelphia knowing only a couple of people in the city of brotherly love. Hoping to recreate the community of friends we had left behind in New York City, we began to search for interesting, creative, inquisitive folks.
To that end, we officially formed (or branded) "Rowhouse Productions," which is essentially a social club for old friends to meet up and new friendships to begin. We have tried make our home a space where this can happen, where our creative and intentional events reflect our appreciation for the community we have fostered. Through the years we've thrown a cocktail series written up in Philadelphia Weekly, we created a film festival (currently in its 6th season) where friends gather to watch and discuss movies, we throw music salons, garden parties in the summer, and winter holiday parties complete with carol singalongs. Over the years our events -- whether soirees, dinner parties, salons, holiday celebrations, film festivals, cocktail parties, or gatherings of all shapes and sizes -- tend have a theme, often have an activity, and all have the goal of letting our guests know that their presence matters. In other words: no chips, no kegs, no red plastic cups, no haze of small talk over blasting music. We hope you'll join us at our next gathering for conversation, connection, and community.
